Six campuses across Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire.

New College Lanarkshire is one of the largest colleges in Scotland.

There are currently more than 15,000 students are enrolled at NCL on a mix of full-time, part-time, evening and professional courses at campuses in Cumbernauld, Motherwell, Coatbridge, Kirkintilloch, Hamilton and Broadwood.

NCL recognises the critical role that its plays realising the social, economic and cultural aspirations of the area, and in making Lanarkshire an even better place in which to live and work.

In addition to contributing to the advancement of Lanarkshire through the provision of outstanding learning opportunities, it has established high-impact partnerships with the public, business and third sectors.

The College was named ‘Best in the UK’ at the WorldSkills UK trade skills competition in Birmingham in November 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2019, in addition to finishing in the top three places in 2015, 2017 and 2018. After a break in 2020 due to the pandemic, the College is proud to be chosen as one of 25 venues across the UK to host WorldSkills UK’s 2021 finals.

New College Lanarkshire is dedicated to helping the local community. Spanning three counties and with state-of-the-art facilities, the College is well-positioned to offer training programmes, employability initiatives, and to support local people.

NCL offers a wide range of courses in Hospitality and Professional Cookery. It boasts well-equipped training kitchens and restaurants – MLOne at Motherwell Campus and Taste at Cumbernauld Campus – that give students a flavour of fine dining to set them on course for a career in the hospitality industry. The course levels range from introductory kitchen skills and REHIS hygiene certifications to HND Professional Cookery or a degree qualification in Hospitality Business Management.

NCL is partnering with Lanarkshire Larder, the regional food and drink group for Lanarkshire. Understanding the food and drink industry in Scotland and working with the real businesses will give students an in-depth understanding of the industry.
