Award-winning chutneys and pickles, handmade in Lanarkshire.
Millers Larder are artisan producers of handmade traditional small-batch chutneys and pickles.
In 2016, their Perfyit Piccalilli won a Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Award for Foodservice.
As classically trained chefs, they are passionate about sourcing and use seasonal ingredients and local suppliers, passing on the preserving skills and techniques to the next generation. They proudly promote their farming heritage in Langholm using traditional family recipes, giving them a modern twist.
The Perfyit Piccalilli.
Jean and George Miller are artisan producers of handmade chutneys, pickles and their award-winning Perfyit Piccalilli. Both classically trained chefs, they say their products are “made for chefs by chefs.” Their daughters’ Claire and Rachel are also keen cooks and are involved in the family business.
They have tailored their business model to suit the demands of a niche hospitality market with Braehead Foods supplying their Perfyit Piccalilli throughout the UK.
Keeping it local.
Local retail is very important to Millers Larder and they supply to The Duke’s Deli in Lanark, Ramsays of Carluke, Roasted in Strathaven and What’s Fresh in Auldhouse.
By collaborating and adapting to diversify with local producers including Shoogle Spirits and Old Mother Hunt Rum, Millers Larder are using social media to connect through their patisserie creations where they are happily using local products to promote everyone. Jean is up-skilling by doing a PDA in Professional Patisserie at South Lanarkshire College with Bake Off winner, Chef Lecturer Helen Vass.
